Grammy nominated rockers Highly Suspect have released a video for their brand new song, Serotonia, which will be available for download March 4 here. The video leads off with a quote from Gina Lollobrigida: “We’re all born to die – the difference is the intensity with which we choose to live.”

Lead singer/guitarist Johnny Stevens shared with Noisey that he wanted the lyrics to speak for themselves compared to having the video visualize what he was trying to convey. He also wanted the video to connect on a more personal level with the viewer, to pull them into his mindset so to speak.

When asked what the song was about, he described it as a metaphor to his changing life. “But the current changes in my life are the biggest inspiration for the song. It’s like certain things were so hard for so long, and I feel like I’ve conquered them. But now other things are hard. I’m just beginning to learn how to face that. It’s scary, It’s exciting, it’s unknown… Life is really huge, isn’t it?”

Part of the video was filmed on his roof during a recent blizzard in New York while the dessert scenes were filmed in Joshua Tree, California. Watch the video below.
