In January, Local H announced two back to back shows at Metro in Chicago to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their breakthrough sophomore album, As Good As Dead. Now, Local H have announced a national tour that will have them playing the album in its entirety.
The tour starts with the weekend of previously announced hometown shows at Metro in Chicago on Friday, April 15th (18+ show) and Saturday, April 16th (all ages). The tour picks up again April 29 in Ferndale, MI and wraps up June 18 in Austin, TX and includes dates at The Bowery Ballroom in New York City and The Roxy Theatre in Los Angeles. Find all dates below.
During these full-album shows, Local H will start off with a short set of songs culled from last year’s widely praised album, Hey, Killer, along with music from their other six studio albums and EPs. After a brief intermission, they will return to the stage and play As Good As Dead from start to finish. There will be no opening act. Tickets go on sale Friday, February 26th. Ticket links can be found here.
“We’re taking a couple of months off to properly prepare for the tour,” explains Local H front man Scott Lucas. “We wanna make sure we get it right and present the album in the best possible way. We’re well aware that these shows are less about us and more about the people coming to hear us play a record that maybe has some importance to them. We take that seriously — and let’s just say, we’re not in the business of disappointing people.”
Available for the first time in this format, As Good As Dead will be released on 180 gram colored vinyl on April 15. The high-quality, double LP will have a premium gatefold jacket and insert. Additionally, the record will come with a digital download code that will allow access to bonus material from that era. Different color options are available for pre-order.
180 gram opaque yellow and 180 gram opaque red/white swirly haze (both limited to 500 copies) can be purchased via srcvinyl here.
180 gram solid red vinyl can be purchased via G&P Records here.

As Good As Dead, Local H’s second full-length album, was produced by Steven Haigler (Quicksand, Pixies) and was originally released on April, 16, 1996 on Island Records on CD and cassette. The record was the band’s first foray into making a concept album and is centered around life in a dead-end, small town.
As Good As Dead spawned four modern rock radio hits including Eddie Vedder, Fritz’s Corner, High-Fivin’ MF and “that copacetic song” — Bound for the Floor, a track that remains a staple on alternative radio station playlists around the the country two decades later. The band made videos for each of the singles. Watch them here and here.
