As part of their last few dates in May, Atlanta based Bridge To Grace made a stop at Brauer House in Lombard, IL the night before their headline festival date in Wisconsin. Their 35-minute set started much later than expected, however, their energy level was on point. The night consisted of songs from their Origins album, which was released in 2015, along with a newer song that lead singer David Garcia mentioned had been written a couple months prior.

The night started off with Take It All, a melodic song with an intense and at times, angry sounding vocal. With the addition of guitarist Alex Cabrera’s captivating guitar work throughout and you had one hell of a song. As I watched David Garcia sing Lost in Memories, and actually during all the songs that night, whether his eyes were closed, lost in the moment, while he sang or when the veins in his neck stood out from intense singing, his passion for the music was very evident.

Next was Left Inside, the band’s current single. A straight ahead rock song, drummer Justin Little also pulled double-duty providing backing vocals during this and other songs. From the get go bassist Christian Lowenstein was a ball of energy. With his mile-wide smile, non-stop head-banging and hair flying, the guy never slowed down. They continued with the hard rocker Weapon, which started off with a drum intro lead by Justin and was quickly followed by Alex’s hard driving guitar playing. Both Alex and Justin traded off backing vocals in this one and many others during the night.

They eventually slowed it down a bit with Everything, which included some pretty awesome harmonies, before playing new song, Forever. At one point during the night David mentioned he wasn’t having a good day, but admitted by the third song his attitude had really turned around. The night ended on a high note with the fast-paced All I Want To Be and Bitch, which just begged you to sing along during the chorus. There is a lot to be said for a band that is passionate about what they do and Bridge to Grace have no shortage of desire or determination. The band are currently on a break, but be sure to follow along as they will have tour dates soon.
