Royal Bliss have released an energetic and inspiring video for Pain, from their self-titled album released this past April. The video shows lead singer, Neal Middleton training for a match, conquering obstacles (did you see the size of that mountain?) and finding the strength to get back up and overcome his opponent in the ring.
Intermixed is footage of the band playing inside of a boxing ring (can you say rippin’ guitar solo?). Be sure to watch all the way through to the end to see the final footage from an actual boxing match Middleton participated in association with Legends Boxing.
Below is an excerpt on Pain from our review of the album. Read the full review here.
The most recent single, Pain, as described by Taylor Richards, “Is about the internal struggles we all have.” While everyone deals with their own kind of pain, whether emotional, physical or other, the key take away is that we can all overcome it. Ultimately, we are in charge of our own path. This song packs so much angst and drive, I can see it becoming a personal theme song for many.
More recently, Middleton shared that when he was younger, he always wanted to be in the ring, “A lot of our new songs have that kind of vibe, that never give up, that rise above the pain kind of vibe. So, I thought of doing a music video based on a washed up out of shape boxer (me), who decides he is not done fighting, sucks it up, and puts his big boy pants on.”
Taylor Richards adds, “The pain a boxer endures while training for a match can be similar to life’s basic struggles. Waking up every day, rising above what might be in your way, falling down and getting back up again to fight another day. This video and song encapsulate that.”
